2025 Mid-Winter Update #2: Connor’s Erg Wrap-up, Spring Season Preview and Giving Day Reminder
Dear Marist Rowing Alumni, Family and Friends,
The melting has begun and with our 4th day in the 40’s this week and some nice drizzly rain we’re on the path towards spring! Hope abounds for getting our shells out of their storage as soon as possible. Today we’ve got our second midwinter update, this time with a recap of the Connor’s Erg Challenge , a preview of our spring racing calendar and a reminder about the upcoming giving day.
The men’s team completed the Connor’s Erg Challenge this past Saturday, a 100K relay race that we run each winter as part of a virtual erg race among college teams that raises money for the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation, a charity that supports research for pediatric brain cancer, the leading disease related cause of death among young people. We had 100% participation from our student athletes this year as well as excellent support from our alumni and families. If you’d like to join the team in supporting the RCD Foundation, click here to to give today!
Our Spring Racing Calendar is listed on the front page of the website and also on our main athletics site for reference. New this year is a great dual race in early April with Tufts, Wesleyan, and Bates as well as a return to the Spring METS Regatta in late April where we’ll face Iona, Fairfield and Colgate. Listen to the video for more detail about the calendar!
Finally we have a quick reminder about the annual giving day which is scheduled for March 26th. We hope you’ll set your calendars for another fantastic year. This year’s athletics challenge is worth an additional $5,000 which will go to the team who raises the highest number of unique donors who give at or over $23 which represents the 23 varsity sports at Marist. We’ll be bringing you a much deeper dive into our fundraising in the coming weeks as well as our state of the program address for the year!
